Opening of the Exhibition "From Light Wave to Laser Beam" | ETM

On July 15 at 19:00, a new interactive exhibition dedicated to photonics and laser technologies opens at the Energy and Technology Museum! We invite you to see up close how the technologies of the future are born, and to try out the games and simulations created especially for this exhibition. Did you know that a perfectly tuned laser beam can cool atoms to a temperature lower than that of outer space itself? For many years now, Lithuania has been setting the trends in lasers worldwide, yet this field still holds many secrets for the public. It's time to discover them! PROGRAM: 19:00 | Grand opening and laser show. We will open the evening with an impressive light show by "Optronika" and a short welcome speech from the exhibition organizers. 19:30 | Lecture "Horizons of Laser Applications." Dr. Balys Momgaudis will explain, in a simple and engaging way, how scientists control powerful flows of light, what challenges laser laboratories face, and how these technologies are changing our everyday lives and industry. 19:45 - 20:30 | Exhibition visit and experiments. We open the doors of the exhibition! Interactive games and your first attempts at controlling a laser await you. Guided "Photonics Kit" workshops will also take place, where anyone who wants to can become a researcher themselves – you will control beams of light with your own hands, assemble working optical devices, and see how complex technologies turn into a stunning, living world of discovery. The exhibition opening event and all activities are free of charge. Get to know the lasers that amaze the world, and discover the Lithuania that creates them. The event is supported by the Vilnius City Municipality
