Where to stay in Vilnius so your morning starts where it needs to

By VisitVilnius editorial6 min read

Where to stay in Vilnius in 2026 depending on the situation: a weekend in the Old Town, an early flight, arrival by train, business meetings, and a longer stay.

A hotel address error becomes apparent not at the reception, but at 5:20 AM, when the flight is approaching, the suitcase is still rolling on the Old Town cobblestones, and the car is parked in a more expensive spot than its passengers. In Vilnius, a few kilometers can separate very different mornings. Therefore, first decide where you need to be after breakfast, and only then compare rooms.

When you have one weekend for Vilnius

For a short stay, it's worth paying for an address from which you don't need to travel. "Hotel Pacai", Didžioji g. 7, is 300 m from the Town Hall and 900 m from Cathedral Square. On July 18, 2026, a checked offer for a room for two people for the night of July 31 to August 1 cost 204 Eur with taxes. This is a reasonable price if you spend both days in the Old Town and return to the hotel several times.

A more rational city center option is "Neringa Hotel", Gedimino pr. 23. It's about 800 m from Cathedral Square and about 200 m from the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Summer offers for two people range from approximately 95 to 140 Eur per night. Choose it if your evening plan revolves around Gediminas Avenue, Lukiškės Square, or the opera house.

Don't book an Old Town room based solely on a photo. Check whether the windows face the street or an inner courtyard, whether there is an elevator in the building, or if there are stairs remaining to the room. When traveling with a stroller or heavy luggage, the character of a historic building can mean an inconvenient route to the bed.

When the plane takes off before breakfast

For a flight before 7 AM, the closest address is "AIRINN Vilnius Airport Hotel", Rodūnios kelias 8. The hotel is about 50 m from the main terminal, and check-in is possible at any time of night. In the summer of 2026, online prices ranged from approximately 68 to 129 Eur per room. For one night here, you pay not for the city district, but for the ability to walk to the terminal.

If you spend three nights in Vilnius, an airport hotel will save less time than daily trips to the city center will take. In this case, stay in the city, and only move for the last night if you have checked luggage on the morning of departure or are traveling with children. The train from the airport to the railway station takes about 7 to 8 minutes, but does not run all night. You can find routes and ticket guidelines in the Vilnius Airport travel guide.

When you arrive by train or bus

"Panorama Hotel", Sodų g. 14, is approximately a 3-minute walk from Vilnius station. On July 26 and 27, 2026, a sample night for two people cost 75 Eur with taxes. The Gate of Dawn is 800 m away, so for a one-night stop, you don't need to choose between the station and the Old Town.

"Comfort Hotel LT", Kauno g. 14, is about 300 m from the railway station. July offers for two people started from approximately 56 to 75 Eur. Underground parking costs 15 Eur per day, and the pet fee is 20 Eur per night. Choose this address if you want to stay in Naujamiestis, near the station, but not directly in front of its square.

When arriving after midnight, it is essential to check not only the 24-hour reception but also the late arrival conditions for your specific rate. Self-service apartments may require a pre-received door code and identity verification. Do not postpone reading these messages until you are standing in front of locked doors.

When the first meeting takes place on the right bank of the Neris

If Konstitucijos Avenue and Europa Square dominate your agenda, staying in the Old Town is not automatically more convenient. The address of "Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva" is Konstitucijos pr. 20. Check-in starts at 3 PM, check-out by 12 PM. For the night of July 19 to 20, 2026, an offer for two people cost 74 Eur with taxes.

The hotel has paid "UniPark" underground and outdoor parking. In the adjacent parking lot, during the day, from 8 AM to 10 PM, a 3 Eur per hour rate applies, at night 1 Eur. If the car will be parked longer, when booking, ask for the hotel's daily rate and compare it with the hourly rate. The words "on-site parking" do not yet mean that it is included in the room price.

For conference participants, the exact event address is more important than "city center" written in the hotel description. "LITEXPO" is at Laisvės pr. 5, not on Konstitucijos Avenue. If the event takes place there, calculate the route separately, as a hotel in the business district will not necessarily be next to the exhibition center.

When you bring a car

Parking a car on an Old Town street can be more expensive than booking a hotel with a garage. In the blue zone, parking is charged 24/7, the first hour costs 3.50 Eur, each subsequent hour 4 Eur. In the red zone, payment is from Monday to Saturday, from 8 AM to 10 PM, the rate is 2.50 Eur per hour.

Hotel differences are even greater. "Comfort Hotel LT" parking costs 15 Eur per day, "Neringa Hotel" announces a daily rate of 30 Eur and a limited number of spaces, and parking at "Hotel Pacai" with valet service costs 75 Eur per day. Before choosing a non-refundable rate, get written confirmation that a parking space is reserved.

If you won't be using the car in the city, compare accommodation with free parking on the outskirts of the center with two ride-sharing trips. On a weekend, leaving the car in the hotel garage and exploring the Old Town on foot is often simpler than looking for a new spot every few hours.

When you stay for four nights or longer

After the third dinner at a restaurant, a kitchenette and laundry facilities become more valuable than daily towel changes. "HOME Apart-Hotel Vilnius", A. Vivulskio g. 12B, has a shared 24-hour kitchen, laundry facilities, and free parking. Online offers ranged from approximately 60 to 80 Eur per night. Naujamiestis allows you to reach the Old Town on foot, but for daily shopping, you don't need to stay on tourist streets.

In apartments, check four things: whether the kitchen is in the room or shared, whether final cleaning is included in the price, on which floor the accommodation is, and whether the elevator works. The phrase "laundry facility" might mean a paid shared laundry room, not a washing machine in the apartment.

When to book and what amount to add

For a summer Friday or Saturday in the Old Town, book 4 to 6 weeks in advance. A family room, a parking space, or a room near the airport before an early flight is safer to book 6 weeks in advance. Usually, for a weekday without a major event, 1 to 2 weeks is often enough, but a non-refundable rate is only worth the risk when flights and event tickets are already confirmed.

Add a 2 Eur city tax per adult per night to the displayed amount if the platform has not included it. Separately check breakfast, parking, pet fee, and late check-out. For comparison, use identical conditions: the same room category, breakfast, cancellation deadline, and final price with taxes. Only then does the cheapest box on the screen become the cheapest accommodation.
