Three very different car experiences, not next to each other
In Vilnius, car enthusiast spots are not grouped into one route, and only one of the three is a regular museum that can be entered with a ticket in hand. The Auto Museum operates like any other attraction: it has opening hours and a ticket counter. The Porsche Garage in Užupis and the Lumber Room in Naujoji Vilnia operate differently: these are private clubs where a visit means a pre-booked tour or an invitation to an event. Before planning your day, it's worth knowing exactly what each place offers, how much it costs, and how far apart they are.
Auto Museum: the only place you can just walk into
The Auto Museum is located in the former Vilnius taxi park building, Dariaus ir Girėno g. 2, right next to the railway and bus stations, on the border of Naujininkai and Naujamiestis. The museum opened in May 2023 and is the largest private museum of historical transport technology in Lithuania: spread over two floors, the 4600 sq. m exhibition features over 100 exhibits from 19th-century carriages to modern classics, including Soviet limousines and Western luxury cars.
The museum is open daily from 10 AM to 7 PM, closed on Tuesdays. A standard ticket costs 15 Eur, a group student ticket 9 Eur, a family ticket from 20 Eur. Children under 6, visitors over 80, POLA card holders, teachers with ID, guides, museum staff, and journalists are admitted free of charge. A guide for a group costs 80 Eur and lasts 2 hours, reservations must be made at least 3 working days in advance. On the last Sunday of each month, the museum organizes free guided tours.

Porsche Garage in Užupis: a pre-scheduled tour, not a museum
The Porsche Garage, also known as Garage 9:11, Užupio g. 24, is a private collection founded by car enthusiasts and racers, belonging to VŠĮ "Aurus911". The exhibition features a rare collection of Porsche models marked with the RS badge: 911 generations bearing the RS, GT3 RS, or GT2 RS designations, which in the Porsche world mean the sportiest, racing version. Tours of the collection are often led by the founder and racer Aurelijus Rusteika himself.
This is not a place you can just walk into. Visits are only possible by pre-booking a tour. A collection tour costs 29.11 Eur per person, lasts about an hour, starts at 6 PM on weekdays, and 1 PM on weekends. If at least 10 participants do not gather, the tour time is moved to another date. The guide leads in Lithuanian, so those coming from abroad should inquire in advance by email about translation or an individual tour. For those who want a longer experience, a tasting dinner with a tour is offered for 99.10 Eur per person, up to 3 hours, a three-course dinner from the restaurant "Le Mans", or a VIP dinner among Porsche RS cars: 40 Eur entry per person plus at least 50 Eur order at the restaurant, for groups of 4 to 10 people, up to 2 hours.
For those who want not only to look but also to feel the speed, a passenger ride on a race track is offered: with a historic 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 from 150 Eur for 2 laps at 75 Eur each, or with a more modern 991 GT2 RS (about 700 HP) at Nemuno žiedas from 198 Eur for 2 laps at 99 Eur each. A passenger ride on city streets costs 300 Eur, up to 2 hours or 100 km. Children under 5 do not buy a ticket, but touching or sitting in cars is not allowed, and bringing animals is prohibited.

Lumber Room in Naujoji Vilnia: a car storage that becomes a club on weekends
Lumber Room Vilnius, Dūmų g. 3-105, Naujoji Vilnia, is a complex opened in 2024 in a restored 19th-century scythe factory. Main activities: climate-controlled storage for collector cars, workshops, and collection maintenance. Steel beams, brick walls, and 4-meter ceilings have been preserved from the old factory, making the space resemble an industrial museum rather than a standard garage.
On weekends, "Lumber Room" becomes a social club: "Cars & Coffee" mornings and larger events, such as the season opening or "Cars & Sports x Lumber Room", are held here, during which the space and part of the stored collection are open to visitors. There is no fixed schedule, so before going, check their Instagram (@lumberroomvilnius) or Facebook account for the date of the nearest event and participation conditions. The space is also rented for private events: conferences, corporate parties, and weddings, accommodating from several dozen to several hundred guests depending on the hall.

How to plan your day: three different districts, not walkable routes
These three places are scattered across different parts of the city, requiring travel between them, not walking. The Auto Museum is located near the railway station, close to the southern edge of the old town. The Porsche Garage is in Užupis, across the river from the old town, so it's only a fifteen-minute walk from the center. The Lumber Room is in Naujoji Vilnia, a separate suburb east of the center, where a taxi ride takes about 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. If you plan to visit all three in one day, it's most convenient to first book the Porsche Garage tour for a specific time, plan a more flexible Auto Museum visit around it, and leave the Lumber Room for a weekend when "Cars & Coffee" is taking place.
How much a visit actually costs
For one person, the Auto Museum is the cheapest: from 9 Eur for students or 15 Eur for adults, without any additional reservations. The Porsche Garage collection tour costs 29.11 Eur per person, and with a tasting dinner, it increases to 99.10 Eur. To feel the speed on a race track, the budget needs to be planned from 150 Eur. Lumber Room "Cars & Coffee" mornings are usually open without a separate ticket, but larger thematic events may have their own price, which is announced on social media before each event.
The same rule applies to all three places: prices and schedules change, so check official channels before going, especially in the case of the Porsche Garage and Lumber Room, where without prior arrangement, the doors simply will not be opened.
