Best restaurants in Vilnius 2026: where to eat according to time and budget

Where to dine in Vilnius in 2026 according to time and budget: Michelin-starred restaurants, Lithuanian cuisine, prices and reservation tips.

In Vilnius, dinner is easiest to spoil not by choosing a bad restaurant, but by choosing the wrong format. A tasting dinner doesn't fit between a museum and a show, and looking for a free table in the Old Town late on a Friday means eating wherever there's space left. Therefore, first decide how much time you will dedicate to food, how much you want to pay, and whether dinner will be the main event of the evening.

When dinner is the entire evening plan

„Nineteen18“, Dominikonų St. 11, in the Old Town, has one Michelin star in 2026 and operates from Wednesday to Saturday evenings. There is no quick visit format here: a seasonal tasting menu is offered for 115 Eur per person, drink pairings cost from 80 Eur. A 10% service charge is added to the final bill, so the menu with the cheapest drink pairing costs about 214.50 Eur per person. Reservations are only made online. The restaurant accepts guests from 14 years old and cannot accommodate complex or multiple dietary restrictions applied simultaneously. This is important to specify before paying for the reservation.

„Demo“, T. Ševčenkos St. 16A, in the loft district of Naujamiestis, also has one Michelin star. The current menu offers a seven-course dinner for 85 Eur or a ten-course dinner for 115 Eur. Wine pairing costs 75 Eur, non-alcoholic drink pairing 55 Eur. In the longer menu, dishes are arranged as a single theme, so it's worth not planning another event for the same evening upon arrival. If you want a shorter and cheaper version, the seven-course menu is a more rational choice than trying to rush a ten-course dinner.

„Gaspar's“, Pylimo St. 23-3, is a practical intermediate stop between a tasting restaurant and a classic menu. A six-course improvisational tasting costs about 95 Eur per person, lasts from 3 to 3.5 hours, and must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, the restaurant accepts guests in the evenings, on Saturdays from 1 PM. If you don't have that much time, choose dishes from the main menu, not the tasting.

Two hours, one serious dinner

„Džiaugsmas“, Vilniaus St. 28, has one Michelin star, but allows choosing more than just a tasting. 2026 summer price guide: appetizers cost approximately from 8 to 17 Eur, main courses from 24 to 53 Eur, tasting menu about 120 Eur. For a two-course dinner and a glass of wine, it's safe to budget 60 to 90 Eur per person. The restaurant operates from Tuesday to Saturday, from 5 PM to 11 PM. For Friday or Saturday, book at least a week in advance, especially if you need a table for four or more.

„14Horses“, Dominikonų St. 11, is in the same Senatoriai Passage as „Nineteen18“, but the evening rhythm is simpler. The restaurant has a Michelin Bib Gourmand rating and offers a fixed-price four-course dinner, with the current guide price being about 55 Eur per person. Products also come from the „Farmers Circle“ farm, located approximately 70 km from Vilnius. Doors are open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 5 PM to 11 PM. Walk-ins are officially accepted, but it's not worth relying on that on a Friday.

For those who want to compare stars, Bib Gourmand places, and new 2026 entries, a separate guide to Michelin restaurants in Vilnius will be useful.

The taste of Lithuania without just cepelinai

„Ertlio namas“, Šv. Jono St. 7, operates in a historic Old Town house and interprets recipes from the periods of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. A seven-course tasting costs 60 Eur, a nine-course tasting 70 Eur, wine pairing 30 Eur. This is one of the clearest price and duration options for those who want a Lithuanian theme without a heavy set of traditional dishes. The menu changes seasonally, so specific dishes from previous photos should not be expected. Book a table in advance, and note any allergies during reservation.

„Lokys“, Stiklių St. 8, is suitable when you want to order one specific dish. The restaurant operates daily from 12 PM to 12 AM, so it also helps on Mondays when some of Vilnius's more ambitious kitchens are closed. In the current menu, game cepelinai cost 17 Eur, beaver stew 25 Eur, wild boar or venison steak 27 Eur, a set of several types of game 39 Eur. For an appetizer, venison pâté costs 14 Eur. For two dishes without drinks, plan about 31 to 53 Eur per person.

Monday and last minute

„Nineteen18“ is closed that day, „14Horses“ is also closed, and „Gaspar's“ starts the week on Tuesday. If you cannot change the date, check places that operate daily and don't go to a restaurant based solely on an old opening hours photo in a search. „Lokys“ is a specific daily option in the Old Town, and for a wider selection, use the list of Vilnius restaurants with filters.

Without a reservation, it's best to come on a weekday before 6 PM or choose lunch. On Friday from 7 PM to 9 PM, a free table in a popular spot in the Old Town is a matter of luck. In summer, a terrace is not a backup plan, as it fills up first in good weather. If rain is forecast, confirm that your reservation is indoors, not just for an outdoor table.

How much the evening will actually cost

Up to 40 Eur per person, it's most realistic to choose one main course, share an appetizer, and not buy a drink pairing. From 50 to 80 Eur already fits the four-course „14Horses“ format, „Ertlio namas“ tasting, or two dishes at „Džiaugsmas“. From 85 to 120 Eur, longer tastings without drinks begin. With wine pairing, an evening at „Demo“ costs from 160 Eur, and at „Nineteen18“, including a 10% service charge, from approximately 214.50 Eur per person.

Always check prices on the day of reservation. Seasonal menus change, drinks are usually not included, and water, coffee, and additional dishes can noticeably increase the bill. If the budget is strict, before reserving, calculate not only the menu but also the service charge, drinks, and a taxi after a late dinner.

Reservation without unpleasant surprises

For a table at a starred restaurant on a Friday or Saturday, start looking two or three weeks in advance. For Tuesday or Wednesday, a few days are often enough, but small dining rooms fill up quickly. Allow at least three hours for a tasting, about two for a regular dinner. Before a show, concert, or night train, choose an early time and write down when you need to leave.

In your reservation, specify allergies, vegetarian preferences, children's ages, and the exact number of guests. It's not enough to mention an allergy upon arrival, as the base for the tasting menu is prepared in advance. Also, read the cancellation policy: some places require a deposit or charge a no-show fee. If you are more than 15 minutes late, call. In a small restaurant, a delayed table can disrupt the entire flow of dishes.
